Ubunifu AI Academy equips young Africans aged 13–18 with the skills, tools, and confidence to build, lead, and shape the future of artificial intelligence — not just consume it.
Ubunifu AI Academy exists to close the gap between young Africans and the technology reshaping the world. We believe the next generation of AI builders, policymakers, and entrepreneurs should come from Africa and we're building the pipeline to make it happen. Our curriculum is rooted in African contexts, real problems, and hands-on creation.
From curious beginner to confident AI leader — each level builds on the last, with real projects at every stage.
Your first step into artificial intelligence. Understand how AI works, learn to code without it first, then use it responsibly and creatively — no prior experience needed.
Stop consuming — start creating. Write Python, build and publish websites, design brands, and analyse real African data using AI as your co-creator.
Lead with impact. Build automations, write ethics policy memos, pitch startup MVPs, and present the Ubunifu AI Challenge to a real external panel.
No prior experience in coding or AI needed. Just bring an open mind and a desire to build something that matters.
Any student aged 13–18 across Africa. Designed to complement your school curriculum — building skills that prepare you for the future of work.
Ubunifu AI Academy partners with schools across Africa to deliver the programme as part of the school day, an after-school club, or a holiday intensive.
You don't need to know how to code or have used AI before. Just curiosity. Every lesson starts from scratch and builds from there.
Most AI programmes teach students about AI from a distance. We put them in the creator's seat from day one.
Every case study, dataset, and example is rooted in African contexts — from M-Pesa to Masakhane to Zindi. Students see themselves in the content, not as afterthoughts.
Students leave each level with real work — a published website, a brand identity, a policy memo, and a startup pitch. Their portfolio proves what they can do.
We teach students to question AI, not just use it. From fact-checking hallucinations to writing ethics policy memos, rigorous thinking is baked into every lesson.
Using the Ubunifu Method™, students identify root causes, validate with real evidence, and design responsible AI solutions — before touching any technology.
Hear from students, educators, and mentors who are part of the Ubunifu AI Academy journey.
Ubunifu AI Academy gave me the confidence to see myself as a builder, not just a user of technology. I published my first website and pitched a business idea — at 15. Nothing else has come close.
As a teacher, I've never seen students so energised. They're not just learning about AI — they're questioning it, debating it, and building with it. The most meaningful programme I've encountered.
The Ubunifu AI Challenge was the most rigorous intellectual experience I've had. Having a real investor panel question my solution showed me that my ideas matter — and I can defend them.
We're looking for passionate educators, technologists, and communicators who believe Africa's youth deserve world-class AI education. If you want to teach skills that matter, apply to become a Ubunifu AI trainer.
A passion for education and youth development. Comfort with technology — you don't need to be an AI expert, but you should be curious and willing to learn. Strong communication and classroom facilitation skills. Experience working with secondary school students is a plus.
